Catalog of Federal Domestic Assistance Number: U.S. Department of Agriculture, USDA Rural Utilities Service USDA Rural Development State Offices The Rural Decentralized Water Systems Grant provides funding for qualified nonprofit organizations and tribes for lending programs that increase access to clean, reliable water and septic systems to existing households Loans can be made in amounts up to $15,000, and can be be used to construct, refurbish, or service individually-owned household water well or decentralized Eligible applicants are nonprofit organizations and Expertise and experience promoting the safe, productive use of individually owned household water Legal authority to act as a lender Sufficient expertise and experience in lending Financial, technical, and managerial capacity to comply with relevant federal and state laws and areas with populations of 50,000 or less Tribal lands in rural areas Total funding available: $6,000,000 Expected number of awards: 10 A 10% cash match is required.
