Rural Library Grant

Literacy Enrichment Grant is sponsored by Children's Literacy Foundation (CLiF). The Literacy Enrichment Grant provides up to $1,000 to support project-based and experiential learning opportunities that bring literacy to life for children. This flexible funding option helps programs build excitement around reading and writing while engaging children in meaningful, hands-on experiences that nurture curiosity and creativity.

Children's Book Project is a matching grant program from The Pilcrow Foundation that funds the purchase of new hardcover children's books for rural public libraries experiencing budget cuts. The foundation provides a 2-to-1 match: libraries that contribute $200–$400 from local sponsors receive up to $1,200 worth of books at retail value, selected from a curated list of 500+ award-winning titles. Eligible libraries must be independent rural public libraries, Native American Tribal libraries, or rural branches of larger systems within the 50 United States, located more than 40 miles from urban areas, with operating budgets under $150,000 and serving populations under 10,000. Libraries outside the U.S., urban/metropolitan libraries, and libraries with substantial budgets are not eligible. The application deadline is April 1, 2026.
