U.S. Scholarship Information Saba is proud of its longstanding commitment to educating U.S. students who return home as prominent practitioners in the U.S. medical community and as ambassadors of our school. We recognize that medical school education is a significant financial investment and offer the U.S. Academic Scholarship to support applicants in funding their education.

U.S. Academic Scholarship Citizens, dual citizens, or permanent residents of the United States. Candidates will be reviewed based on a combination of several criteria that have been submitted with their application. This includes MCAT, undergraduate GPA, work history, and recommendations.

Based upon academic metrics outlined in the grid below, an accepted student will be awarded the U.S. Academic Scholarship in an amount reflective of their undergraduate academic/MCAT performance. Scholarships are distributed in a manner and over a timeframe determined by the Scholarship Committee. Amounts are applied against tuition only.

Provost Scholarship $20,000 USD GPA of 3. 00 – 3. 19 or a MCAT score of 488 – 492.

Chancellor Scholarship $50,000 USD GPA of 3. 20 – 3. 39 or a MCAT score of 493 – 499.

Dean’s Scholarship $75,000 USD GPA of 3. 40 – 3. 49 or a MCAT score of 500 – 504.

President’s Scholarship $85,000 USD GPA of 3. 50 – 3. 69 or a MCAT score of 505 – 509.

Future Physician Scholarship $100,000 USD GPA of 3. 70+ or a MCAT score of 510+. All U.S. students accepted to the School that meets the “Academic Criteria” outlined above will be eligible for consideration for the scholarship.

The Scholarship Committee will review each eligible candidate to determine the Award Amount. Scholarships are reviewed only for the term in which a candidate applies. Initial screening and calculation of a GPA will occur upon submission of all transcripts to the School.

Candidates that qualify will be awarded upon acceptance. Accepted candidates may make an email request for further award consideration to the Scholarship Committee at scholarship@saba. edu.

If a candidate defers to a different starting term, he/she will be reconsidered, but there is no guarantee the award amount will remain the same. Continued receipt of awarded funds is subject to the candidate remaining in good academic standing and progressing in a timely manner. Awards may be discontinued if course remediation or program absences occur during the course of the academic program.

Including withdrawal from or failure of any course or clerkship. After matriculation, a student must remain in good academic standing and progress in a timely manner (no remediation) toward completion of the program. Candidates will be notified of awards by the Admissions Department.

The Pre-Med Club Scholarship is awarded to U.S. university/college students who are pursuing careers as practicing physicians and are active with their school’s pre-medical club. It is designed to enhance their journeys and support their efforts as they enter the field of medicine. Eligible candidates must engage in a pre-med club presentation delivered by Saba University School of Medicine (SUSOM).

Pre-med clubs can schedule a presentation by contacting the SUSOM admissions team. Accepted MD program students from the United States. In order to earn this scholarship**, students must: Participate in a pre-med club presentation hosted by SUSOM.

Complete a brief inquiry form. Additionally, club members who were unable to attend the scheduled presentation may still qualify by participating in a virtual admissions session with an advisor. The scholarship amount will be disbursed as a credit against tuition.

*Effective for new students matriculating during or after May 2026. **Terms and conditions apply. Canadian Scholarship Information Canadian students have long been a vibrant and important part of our academic community.

All MD program applicants from Canada are eligible for the Canadian Merit Scholarship. Learn more below. Additionally, Canadian students entering the MD program in the September 2025 semester or later are now eligible to pay their tuition and administrative fee costs in CAD .

Given the fluctuating exchange rate, this makes it easier to plan your payments over 10 semesters and results in significant savings! Please note, grants and scholarships for Canadians are awarded in CAD given that they pay in CAD. Canadian Merit Scholarship Citizens or permanent residents of Canada that have been accepted into Saba.

International Scholarship Information Every student, regardless of their background, deserves the chance to pursue their goal of becoming a practicing physician without financial limitations. For this reason, Saba welcomes outstanding international students each year, acknowledging and celebrating their achievements through the International Achievement Scholarship.

International Student Scholarship All accepted students who do not possess U.S. or Canadian citizenship or permanent residency status. Citizens, dual citizens or permanent residents of the United States and Canada. A $75,000 grant disbursed over 10 semesters, exclusively allocated to cover tuition expenses.

Following enrollment, a student must maintain strong academic standing and progress in a timely manner toward program completion without any remediation. Scholarship Awards will only be disbursed as a credit against tuition. *Effective for students matriculating during or after May 2025 .

Opportunity Grant Information A $5,000 grant for new students only. Following acceptance, a student should make a deposit payment within 5 business days. Scholarship awards will only be disbursed as a credit against tuition.
