SAHMSA Summer Medical Student Program is sponsored by Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA). This program, funded by SAMHSA, provides medical students interested in serving underserved communities with experiential learning, training, and professional development in the field of psychiatry, with a focus on mental health and substance abuse.

These grants give medical students opportunities to travel to APA Meetings (Annual Meeting and The Mental Health Services Conference), receive mentorship from psychiatrists and leaders in the field, and more.
