San Diego Newcomers Project (SDNP) is sponsored by California Department of Social Services (CDSS), Refugee Programs Bureau (RPB). The San Diego Newcomers Project (SDNP) aims to support the effective resettlement of refugees and other eligible populations by providing culturally and linguistically appropriate services.
This includes promoting long-term integration and coordination among local refugee resettlement agencies, community-based service providers, and the San Diego County Health & Human Services Agency. Services include Refugee Cash Assistance (RCA) and Refugee Support Services (RSS), such as employment services and case management.
The program seeks one primary non-profit grant recipient to implement the program in partnership with other approved non-profit subgrantees. Non-profit organizations must be located in and able to serve eligible populations in San Diego County and have at least five years of experience providing culturally and linguistically appropriate services to immigrant communities in San Diego County.
While the RFA does not explicitly mention technology, language access is a core component, suggesting that technology facilitating this access could be a part of a strong proposal.

On September 17, 2026 the District of Massachusetts vacated the Education Department's February 5, 2025 anti-DEI directive government-wide, finding it arbitrary and capricious and contrary to three separate bodies of law. The vacatur is sweeping. The path to recovering $600 million runs through a different courthouse entirely.
Read articleThe FY2026 MEP Center State Competition ran in two rounds: eight states worth $139.1 million, then fourteen more worth $232.4 million, both closing August 21, 2026. That's 43 percent of the national network recompeted in twelve months, under a 50 percent non-federal cost share, while the administration's own budget request proposed eliminating the program. Here's what the award tables reveal, why incumbents are genuinely at risk, and how to position for the FY2027 wave.
Read articleOn August 14, 2026, the California Arts Council approved nearly $24.6 million across 1,200 grant awards. Buried in the release is a rare thing: before-and-after data showing exactly how much the ranked-priority bonus moved the pool. Small organizations went from 53% of applicants to 72% of awardees. Geography moved 19 points. First-time status barely moved at all. Here is what that means for the 2027 cycle.
