SCALEUP Ready competitively selects and supports the next step to commercial scale-up of promising technologies from the ARPA-E portfolio of projects, past and present. The program extends ARPA-E's support beyond research and development to provide a path to commercial deployment. Since 2019, **SCALEUP programs** have lent tailored assistance to bring lab-scale technology to pilot-scale applications.
SCALEUP Ready is the latest Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) for SCALEUP. SCALEUP Ready has several distinguishing features compared with previous SCALEUP programs. ## How is SCALEUP Ready unique?
* Applicants can apply whenever they are ready * Applicants can request optional pre-submission discussions with a Technology-to-Market advisor * Applicants can use an **optional self-assessment tool**to assess their readiness * Applicants must control qualifying IP ## SCALEUP Ready Pre-Submission Discussions _Talk to an ARPA-E Expert Before Applying_ Potential applicants interested in SCALEUP Ready are encouraged to request an optional pre-submission discussion with an ARPA-E Technology-to-Market advisor before applying.
The meeting gives applicants a chance to discuss their proposed SCALEUP Ready project and its potential responsiveness. This is only available to applicants who have not yet submitted their full application to SCALEUP Ready. **Steps to Requesting a Discussion** * Read the Notice of Funding Opportunity.
* Take the self-assessment to determine your readiness. * Request a pre-submission discussion: * Collect the following information: * A brief summary of the proposed SCALEUP Ready project and underlying technology; * The iEdison number or software title of the qualifying subject invention; and * The ARPA-E program and award number the technology was initially funded through. * Email this information to ARPA-E-SCALEUP@hq.
