Organisers: Alexander Rave Foundation ( ifa – Institut für Auslandsbeziehungen ) Who is it for: Curators, restorers, mediators, and cultural managers from DAC-listed countries The Alexander Rave Foundation Scholarship supports cultural practitioners working with heritage, collections, and archives by enabling them to undertake research and professional exchange at host institutions, primarily in Germany.

The programme fosters transcultural dialogue, promotes freedom of artistic and academic expression, and contributes to building sustainable international networks. The scholarship focuses on strengthening institutional practices and encouraging new perspectives in museum and cultural work, aligned with the evolving role of museums in society.

Selected participants will benefit from: - A monthly stipend of €1,500 - Family allowances (€250 per spouse/child, if applicable) - Coverage of travel and visa costs - Health insurance (including family members) - A monthly public transport pass - Up to €500 for a language course - Opportunities for knowledge exchange and international networking The programme supports residencies of 3 to 6 months in Germany, with the possibility of an additional reciprocal stay (2–12 weeks) in the participant’s home country.

Projects should engage with one or more of the following areas: - Sustainability in cultural institutions - Non-discriminatory and inclusive spaces - Decolonial approaches to museum and heritage work All projects must connect to a collection, archive, or institutional transformation process.

Eligible applicants include: - Curators, restorers, mediators, and cultural managers - Professionals working with cultural heritage, collections, or archives - Individuals who have completed higher education or vocational training - Applicants with strong English proficiency - Be based in a DAC-listed country (see the DAC listed countries on the map here ) - Apply in partnership with a non-commercial host institution (museum, gallery, or research institute) - Submit a jointly developed project proposal with the host institution The programme actively encourages applications from individuals belonging to historically marginalised communities.
