Scholarship Program is sponsored by San Diego Alpha Foundation. The San Diego Alpha Foundation provides scholarships for deserving high school students who demonstrate academic excellence, leadership, and a commitment to service, as they begin their college experience.

In 2025, San Diego Foundation awarded a record-breaking $5.

5 million in scholarships to nearly 1,400 students. The 2026-2027 Common Scholarship Application deadline has passed. Students were notified of scholarship awards in June 2026.

Frequently Asked Questions Scholarship Application Portal Who is Eligible to Apply?

Scholarships are available for: Graduating high school seniors Current college students (undergraduate or graduate) Students with financial needs (includes middle-income families) Students attending four-year universities, community colleges or career/technical schools Even if you’re not a straight-A, star athlete or student body president, we have scholarship opportunities if you have: Commitment to your education Potential for success in college Participation in community service, extracurricular activities and/or work experience Current residence in San Diego County (for at least one year) Need of help to pay for school (including middle-income families) Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or CA Dream Act are required to apply.

gov/aid-estimator , complete the Estimated SAI page and submit it. Students are also encouraged to share details about their financial situation in the “Other Financial Circumstances” section of the application. If extreme financial challenges prevent students from doing any of the above, they can explain their situation in the same section.
