Scholarship Program (Southwest Florida) is sponsored by Southwest Florida Community Foundation. The Southwest Florida Community Foundation offers scholarships for high school seniors, undergraduate, and graduate students continuing their post-secondary education at vocational/technical schools, universities, or community colleges.

| Florida SouthWestern State College Federal and State Scholarships/Grants Institutional Scholarships The 2026/2027 Scholarship Application which is valid for Fall 2026, Spring and Summer 2027, is now open. Please note that the 2025/2026 Scholarship Application is closed. To be considered for all FSW institutional scholarships, students must Apply to FSW and receive a student ID number.

Submit a completed FSW Scholarship Application each Academic Year Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) each academic year and provide any necessary documents if selected for verification. The FAFSA is required for need-based scholarships, but students are encouraged to complete it every year to maximize their eligibility for financial aid and scholarship opportunities.

It is important to regularly check your student email as scholarships are awarded at various times throughout the academic year.

Institutional Scholarships FSW awards a variety of unique scholarships each academic year through the fundraising efforts of the FSW Foundation and scholarship funds available through the Office of Financial Aid and Cashier Services. Scholarship award amounts vary and are awarded based on several factors including, but not limited to, merit, financial need, major of study, and/or other specifications set by donors/departments.

Students are responsible for meeting all eligible requirements and submitting required admissions and financial aid documents, which may include submitting proof of Florida Residency for Tuition Purposes . Students not meeting Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) or are no longer in Good Academic Standing will not be considered or remain eligible for FSW Scholarships.

Federal and State Scholarships/Grants Grants are financial aid that do not have to be repaid. Eligibility for grants are determined by information obtained from the submission of the Free Application of Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Students must submit a completed Florida Financial Aid Application (FFAA) to The Office of Student Financial Assistance (OSFA) for programs below denoted by an asterisk (*).

In order to apply for State Scholarship & Grant Programs, a student must first Create a Student Account . After logging into your account, you may proceed to complete the FFAA. Scholarships and Grants not marked with an asterisk are awarded through the Office of Financial Aid and Cashier Services and do not require the completion of the FFAA.

Program funding is contingent upon an appropriation by the Legislature. The number of scholarships awarded and award amounts will be limited based on availability of funds. Enrollment will be verified, and awards will be posted to eligible students once the add/drop period for the applicable term is complete.

Outside Donor Scholarships Outside Donor Scholarships are awarded by various businesses, charities, clubs/groups, etc. These scholarships have their own application process and are awarded by the outside organization.

All outside donor scholarship checks should be mailed to: The Office of Financial Aid and Cashier Services When submitting a check as an outside donor, please indicate the following identifiable information: Students first and last name, and student ID number, if available, and the academic year or semester in which to apply funds. Talk to your high school counselor about scholarships you may be eligible for.
