Many grants require you to complete a FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) before applying to determine if you are eligible. Our Financial Aid Advisors can help you through the process. Trade School Made Possible Paying for trade school can feel overwhelming, but there may be more resources available than you realize.

The Institutional Grant program helps eligible students with significant financial need who relocate or commute 50+ miles to attend a UTI program by reducing their overall tuition. The Commuter Grant helps eligible students with the greatest financial need who commute less than 50 miles one way daily by subsidizing costs related to their travel.

The Re-Enroll Grant helps eligible students who are returning to Universal Technical Institute campuses with demonstrated financial need and minimum cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 2. 0 from their prior enrollment. Available to All Eligible Students Technical Education Institutional Grant (TEIG) The Technical Education Institutional Grant is intended to recognize the technical education obtained at the secondary level while motivating students to continue their technical education at the post-secondary level.

Enrolled students who meet the eligibility criteria must complete a Technical Education Institutional Grant Attestation Form and submit it prior to starting classes. Applicant must submit a completed Attestation Form no later than one year after high school graduation/GED award.

Applicant must submit a completed Attestation Form to the UTI Scholarships & Grants Department prior to starting classes at Universal Technical Institute to be considered for eligibility. Eligible applicants must attest to having completed a Technical Education Course within the transportation, aviation, or skilled trades programs that UTI offers, of at least one semester in high school and having received a passing grade.

Applicant must be enrolled to start at Universal Technical Institute with a start date of October 1, 2025, through September 30, 2026. Industry’s Choice Scholarship – $1,000 This scholarship helps qualified students decrease their overall cost of tuition. Eligibility requirements include: Student must be enrolled to begin training at any UTI campus (with the exception of the Exton, PA campus).

Have a scheduled start date between 10/1/2025-9/30/2026. Submit application prior to scheduled start date. Have a completed FAFSA that is on file for the 2026 or 2027 academic year.

An SAI of 8,000 or less must be received by the school prior to the application submission. Enroll more than 30 days prior to beginning classes. Student’s proximity to the campus is a component of this scholarship program and will be based on the address provided at the time the student initially provided their information to the school.

Applicant’s address must be less than 50 miles from the campus which the student is attending. Download Application Apply on Scholarship Universe Natural Disaster Grant Program - $1000 UTI offers the Natural Disaster Grant to help eligible incoming students who are interested in enrolling and have been affected by FEMA-declared natural disasters cover a portion of their tuition costs.

Eligibility requirements include: Be enrolled to start Universal Technical Institute. Have been a resident of a designated area impacted by the natural disaster at the time of declaration. Submit a completed application to the UTI Scholarships & Grants Department prior to starting classes at UTI.

Must use the grant and start classes within one year of receiving the award. Be applying for a natural disaster (not including Covid-19) that has occurred within the last 12 months of the application date.

Work Ethic Scholarship Program – mikeroweWORKS Foundation UTI teams up with the mikeroweWORKS Foundation to offer scholarships to eligible students who are enrolled to attend UTI. Relocating or Far-Commuting Students This grant helps eligible students with significant financial need who commute 50+ miles one way or relocate for UTI by subsidizing costs related to housing, moving or long commutes.

Manufacturer-Specific Advanced Training (MSAT) Relocation Grant This grant is designed to assist eligible students who are currently attending or previously graduated from Universal Technical Institute who want to further their education through an MSAT program but need to relocate to another campus to do so. Students must complete an application to be reviewed for eligibility.

All eligible applicants are awarded a grant upon enrollment into an approved MSAT. View the requirements on the application form. The Commuter Grant helps eligible students with the greatest financial need who commute less than 50 miles one way daily by subsidizing costs related to their travel.

For High School Students & Recent Graduates UTI Academic Excellence Grant – Up to $3,000 for Enrolled Students This grant recognizes eligible high school students who have demonstrated dedication to academic success.

This grant is available to enrolled students who meet the admissions requirements for Universal Technical Institute. Eligibility requirements include: Must be currently enrolled in high school and set to graduate or have received a high school diploma or equivalent in the 2025/2026 academic school year. Must be enrolled at any UTI campus with a start date between 10/1/2025 and 9/30/2026.

Must submit the grant application and all required documents before starting classes. Must meet one of the following academic criteria to qualify: Tier 3: GPA: 4. 0+; ACT: 24+; SAT: 1,200+; CLT: 86+ Download Application Apply on Scholarship Universe American Dream Grant – Up to $2,500 for enrolled students This is an award for eligible high school seniors enrolled or interested in enrolling at UTI.

To qualify, students must take a written test covering academic and technical topics related to the transportation industry. Testing information: Testing is available in the fall and spring. $475,000 in grants is awarded annually to 380 students.

The highest-scoring participants can receive up to $2,500. Contact your admissions representative for the next test date. UTI awards grant money to top eligible high school competitors in various career and technical organizations.

To qualify, students must be individual members of the organization they compete in. Organizations include: Automotive Dealers Association National FFA Organization (FFA) New Jersey Cooperative Education Association Charles V. Top Tech Challenge Competition Grant This is a hands-on competition sponsored by Universal Technical Institute that aims to expose local students to the industry they’re interested in. The competition allows each participant the chance to compete and test the technical knowledge they may have obtained in high school. For information on participating in a Top Tech Challenge Competition, speak with your Admissions Representative.

Imagine America Scholarship - $1,000 UTI teams up with Imagine America to offer scholarships to high school senior students. To apply, select the campus for which you are enrolled and complete the online application form. Your application form will be forwarded to a guidance counselor or Imagine America contact at your high school for review.

If approved, it will then be forwarded to UTI for confirmation. Eligibility requirements include: Be enrolled to attend UTI. Currently enrolled in high school as a senior and set to graduate, or recently graduated, within the same academic year.

Technicians in STEM Grant Universal Technical Institute is committed to supporting STEM education programs and careers and has created this program to show that support to incoming students. Applicants must complete an essay-based application and meet the following eligibility requirements: Applicant must be scheduled to graduate or have graduated from high school in the 2025/2026 academic year.
