School Mapping Data Grant Program is sponsored by Florida Department of Education (FDOE). This program provides funding for Florida public school buildings, including charter schools, to obtain standard emergency response mapping data to assist local first responders during emergencies.
The grant requires mapping data to be in an electronic or digital format, compatible with software platforms used by local, state, and federal public safety agencies, and verified for accuracy by a walk-through of school buildings and grounds. The legislation (HB 301) made $14 million available to the state's public schools for this purpose.
