Richard M. Schulze Family Foundation Alternative Certified Educators Fellows Scholarship Funded by the Richard M.

Schulze Family Foundation, the ACE program provides tuition support for adults who wish to pursue teaching as a career. It includes the Teacher Credentials Certificate Program (“TCC”) and the Teacher Immersion Program (“TIP”). The initial amount available to be awarded is $ 100K for the TCC Program scholarships and $ 175K for the TIP Program.

TCC Scholarships range from $ 3,000-$ 5,000 per student based on need. The program consists of six undergraduate courses. The annual aggregate limit to be awarded for the TCC program is $ 100K.

TIP scholarships will be $ 11,400 per student based on a four-semester program. Scholarships will be offered to any individual enrolled in the program. The annual aggregate limit to be awarded for the TIP program is $ 175K.

Recipients from the two programs must be tracked separately. The award process is below: Financial Aid will identify and create a list of students enrolled in the respective programs and the maximum unmet need for each student.

Once the list has been created, it will be submitted to COE designees to make final Those identified as final selections, together with the amounts to be awarded, will be reviewed by the FGCU Foundation to make sure the student has completed the Foundation Once the student completes the FGCU Foundation Scholarship Application, the list of recipients will be forwarded to Financial Aid to be awarded.

The post-baccalaureate TCC program is designed for students with baccalaureate degrees in fields other than education, who seek to meet the licensure/certification requirements for a Florida Educator’s Certificate. The TIP program is designed for career changers and those with degrees in areas other education who wish to become teachers.

It is delivered at the graduate level and includes eight 3-credit hour courses, including an internship and qualifies individuals to receive a 5-year Professional Educator’s Certificate from the Florida Department of Schulze Future Teacher Scholarships Schulze Future Teacher Scholarships (Undergraduate) – $7,500 scholarship award that covers tuition ($6,000) and supplies ($1,500) over the academic year.

Schulze Future Teacher Scholarships (Post-baccalaureate) – $11,400 scholarship award that covers tuition into the Teacher Immersion Program (TIP) , a graduate-level teacher education program in the College of Education. Minority Teachers Education Scholarship (MTES) This scholarship is provided by the Florida Fund for Minority Teachers, Inc. The MTES is a scholarship program for full-time students who are enrolled in 12 credit hours or more. The annual amount of the Minority Teacher Education Scholarship is $4,000. Individuals who are selected for the MTES must: Be a resident of the State of Florida.

Be a member of one of the following racial groups: African American/Black, Hispanic/Latino, Asian American/Pacific Islander, or American Indian/Alaskan Native. Be newly admitted into a teacher education program at any of FFMT's participating Be a junior and have not earned a baccalaureate degree in Education. Have earned 60 credit hours or an AA degree.

Have not exceeded 18 hours of upper division education courses. The Florida Fund for Minority Teachers, Inc. hosts an Annual Teacher Recruitment and Retention Symposium , and attendance is mandatory for all scholarship recipients.

Upon graduation, recipients are required to teach one year in a Florida public school for each year they received Dr. Keiana Desmore, FFMT Primary Contact at FLORIDA FUND FOR MINORITY Teachers The Teacher Education Assistance for College and Higher Education (TEACH) Grant Program provides grants up to $4,000.

00 per year to upper-level and graduate students who intend to teach in a high-need field in a public or private elementary or secondary school that serves students from low-income families. Undergraduate students must major in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Special Education, Secondary Math Education, Secondary Biology Education or Secondary Social Science Education; graduate students must major in Special Education.

Students must have and maintain a cumulative 3. 25 GPA to be eligible for the TEACH Grant. As a recipient of a TEACH Grant, students are required to teach for at least four academic years within eight calendar years of completing the program of study for which they received a TEACH Grant.

Failure to complete this service obligation will result in the TEACH Grant being converted to a Federal Direct Unsubsidized Stafford Loan. Students in the TIP program are not eligible for a TEACH grant. Requirements include: Recipient will be a senior majoring in Early Childhood Education; Recipient must maintain at least a 3.

0 GPA throughout the award period; Recipient will have a high potential for entering and remaining in Early Childhood Education and make a commitment to teach at the Early Childhood level one year for each year of the scholarship support; Recipient must be enrolled full-time; The University will present a list of qualified candidates to the Dean of the College of Education for faculty recommendations.

Charleen Belcher Olliff Endowed Scholarship $8,000 in scholarship awards Scholarships will be awarded to seniors majoring in Education who plan to teach in Charlotte, Collier, Glades, Hendry, or Lee Counties; Since the final internship is a full-time, full-semester teaching assignment in a public school, this scholarship is intended to benefit students who must resign from their jobs and make other major adjustments in their lives to complete the internship; The University will submit a list of qualified applicants to faculty representatives from the College of Education for final selection.

Alice and Dean Fjelstul College of Education Scholarship $5,000 in scholarship awards Qualified candidates will be full-time juniors or seniors in good academic standing enrolled in the College of Education; The Dean of the College of Education or his/her designee(s) will rank qualified applicants, giving consideration to the changing needs of the region and/or the school systems in the University's area; Recipients are eligible for re-award until graduation provided they continue to remain Grow Your Own Scholarship Through an agreement with the School District of Lee County, a scholarship was established to assist deserving students pursuing a Teacher Education Major.

Qualified candidates will be entering freshmen or juniors (changing from a non-College of Education major to a College of Education major), and maintain a GPA of 3. 0 or higher. The College of Education, together with the Office of Financial Aid, will provide the Donor with a list of qualified students that meet the scholarship criteria.

A Donor committee, with representation from the College of Education, will review the list of qualified students and recommend final selections. Scholarships will cover tuition, fees and books. Golden Futures Scholarship Through an agreement with the School District of Lee County, a scholarship was established to assist deserving students pursuing a Teacher Education Major.

Each academic year, the Foundation for Lee County will identify one Lee County Public High School student matriculating to FGCU to major in Education. Students are identified who have been active participants in the Teacher Academy at their high school. An annual scholarship of up to $4000 for four years is awarded (including any increases Scholarship recipients must maintain a GPA of 3.

0 or higher for Child and Youth Studies Enrolled at least half-time (6 credit hours or more) Completed a FGCU Foundation Scholarship application and be eligible to receive financial Selection of Scholarship Recipients Review Process: At the beginning of the fall and spring semesters, a list of students who were recently admitted to the College of Education is compiled The list is reviewed by the COE Director of Advising to ensure each candidate meets the academic criteria of the scholarship (i.e. see above criteria 1-3) After being reviewed by the COE Director of Advising, the list of eligible candidates are then reviewed by the COE Assistant Dean and a faculty member The list of students who remain eligible are then reviewed by the Office of Financial Aid for eligibility (see above for criteria #4) The final list of students were ranked so that those with the highest GPA’s received Noyce@FGCU STEM Teacher Scholarships $14,000 scholarship award over the academic year.

We are no longer accepting applications for this program at this time. Requirements: Students must be pursuing a STEM major, an Education minor, and have a minimum 3. 00 GPA.

Students should be working toward teacher certification and must agree to teach in a public school setting at the 6-12 level post-graduation two years for each year they receive the scholarship. Student must be a U.S. citizen, national, or permanent Preferred Qualifications: participation in service-learning activities in a public school setting or other experiences working with K-12 students.

Barancik Foundation Emerging Educator Scholarship Funded by the Charles & Margery Barancik Foundation, the Barancik Foundation Emerging Educator Scholarship provides scholarship support (up to and including “full-ride” scholarships) to undergraduate students enrolled in the College of Education (or FGCU enrolled incoming freshmen); that are current or former residents of Sarasota, Florida; and/or a graduate of a Sarasota public high school and have expressed an interest in becoming a classroom teacher in the Sarasota County public school system.

Qualified candidates will be in good academic standing and, unless they are incoming freshmen, hold a cumulative grade point average of 2. 5 or higher. The initial amount funded The award process is as follows: Financial Aid will identify and create a list of students that meet the scholarship criteria together with an indication of the maximum unmet need for each student.

Once the list has been created, it will be submitted to a committee consisting of COE designees and a Barancik Foundation representative to jointly make final recommendations. Those identified as final selections, together with the amounts to be awarded, will be reviewed by the FGCU Foundation to make sure the student has also completed the Foundation Scholarship Application.
