This research call focuses on One Health preparedness and infectious disease surveillance, including integrated human, animal, and environmental surveillance systems, diagnostic systems, early-warning mechanisms, AI-enabled disease surveillance, predictive modeling for zoonotic and climate-linked health threats, pandemic preparedness, emerging and re-emerging diseases, transboundary disease monitoring, and links between health, agriculture, food security, and the environment.
Relevant Indigenous or traditional knowledge systems can also be addressed. The grants support Africa-led research and innovation.
