SciTech Grants

SciTech Grants is a grant program from the Massachusetts Life Sciences Center (MLSC) that funds education and workforce development initiatives building a robust life sciences talent pipeline across Massachusetts.

The program supports organizations developing, enhancing, or expanding life sciences education programs from elementary school through post-secondary levels, including internship programs placing high school and college students with life sciences employers. Awards range from $100,000 to $500,000. Additional funding categories include career pathway programs and research collaboration awards.

Eligible applicants are nonprofits, K-12 schools, higher education institutions, and workforce organizations based in Massachusetts.

Education and Workforce Grant Program The Massachusetts Life Sciences Center (MLSC) seeks to develop, enhance, and expand life sciences education programs serving learners from elementary school through post-secondary, throughout the Commonwealth, to ensure that the industry has a robust workforce pipeline.

Application Deadline: February 23, 2026 Programs create hundreds of new internship opportunities each year for high school students, college students and recent graduates interested in life sciences careers in Massachusetts. Funding to support organizations that can build and scale career pathways that effectively prepare students for career opportunities in the life sciences.

Provides incentives to life science companies, of all sizes, looking to expand their efforts by creating new, long-term jobs in Massachusetts. Application Deadline: March 31, 2026 The 2035 Fund is designed to strengthen every layer of the life sciences ecosystem spanning startups, research labs, industry leaders and the next generation of life sciences talent.

Accelerating Research through Collaboration (ARC) Awards Aims to accelerate the research of pressing life science questions through collaboration and to attract and train scientists in the Commonwealth. Application Deadline: November 21, 2025 Designed to break barriers by establishing disease-specific, accessible biobanks sourced from diverse patient populations across Massachusetts.

The MLSC is actively evaluating the development of a BioBoost program intended to support companies creating or expanding biomanufacturing or medtech advanced manufacturing presence in Massachusetts.

Application Closed: November 21, 2025 Funds collaborative academic and industry translational research projects that generate and analyze large omics datasets to answer vital life science questions and train the next generation of data scientists in Massachusetts.

Application Closed: November 21, 2025 Education and Workforce Grant Program The Massachusetts Life Sciences Center (MLSC) seeks to develop, enhance, and expand life sciences education programs serving learners from elementary school through post-secondary, throughout the Commonwealth, to ensure that the industry has a robust workforce pipeline.

Application Closed: November 21, 2025 High School Apprenticeship Challenge Facilitates and funds paid internships for underrepresented and low-income high school students. Also offers a pre-internship lab training program for some schools.

Application Closed: June 13, 2025 Through the Municipal Basecamp, the MLSC is seeking to support and guide municipalities to set strategy and accomplish local goals to attract and encourage life science economic development. Funds pre-clinical research focused on understanding Alzheimer’s and neurodegenerative diseases at Massachusetts research institutions.

Application Closed: December 15, 2025 Novel Therapeutics Delivery Aims to foster the development of novel technologies and techniques for the delivery of existing or innovative therapies. Application Closed: November 21, 2025 Funding to support organizations that can build and scale career pathways that effectively prepare students for career opportunities in the life sciences.

Application Deadline: March 31, 2026 Transforming Health Care in Massachusetts The MLSC is issuing a Request for Information to receive feedback and insight from market participants focused on promoting important health care equity and inclusion principles.

Application Deadline: October 10, 2025 Women’s Health Collaboration Program Developing novel solutions to treat conditions that solely or disproportionately affect women or have a different presentation between genders.

Application Closed: November 21, 2025 Women’s Health Initiative To support efforts which increase understanding of sex and gender differences in biology or developing solutions for diseases or conditions that affect women solely, disproportionately, or differently.
