Secondary Education, Two-Year Postsecondary Education, and Agriculture in the K-12 Classroom Challenge (SPECA) Grants Program is sponsored by U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) National Institute of Food and Agriculture (NIFA). The SPECA program aims to develop and increase the quality of K-14 food and agricultural academic programs at eligible institutions.
Funded projects must engage more than a single course or individual instructor and encourage collaboration between institutions and agencies.
The program supports enhancing agricultural education curricula, increasing faculty teaching competencies, interesting young people in food and agricultural science careers, promoting agriscience and agribusiness in other instructional programs, and supporting current agriculture in the classroom programs for grades K–12.
