We’ll provide expert guidance and free resources to help you get your site ready for planting success. Eligible participants receive custom NextGen™ Seed Mixes and one-on-one guidance for long-term habitat success. Who qualifies for the program?
Landowners and land managers with 2 or more acres located in our 14-state program region. More states will be added soon. How much seed will I receive?
Projects from 2–25 acres receive seed at no cost. Larger projects receive seed at a reduced rate, depending on acreage. How do your seed mixes support so many pollinators?
Every Seed A Legacy project includes two custom-designed seed mixes planted separately - one for butterflies and one for bees. This strategic approach creates diverse habitat that blooms longer, establishes faster, and attracts a wider range of pollinators than single-mix efforts. What’s included with the program?
You’ll receive science-based NextGen™ Seed Mixes, a site-specific seed plan, and expert guidance from our team - for free. Do I need to manage the habitat after planting? How long will it last?
Yes. Participants commit to managing the habitat for at least 5 years. We provide detailed resources and support to make this easy.
With proper management, your habitat can thrive for many years and continue supporting pollinators long after the first bloom. Why are your seed mixes better than others? Our mixes include 40+ wildflower species compared to ~10 in most programs and are designed using a proprietary scoring system that evaluates over 15 factors for pollinator value.
Can I apply if I’ve already planted pollinator habitat? No. The program is designed for new projects on fully prepared sites. We do not provide seed for interseeding existing habitat.
