asp SENIOR HOUSING ASSISTANCE REPAIR PROGRAM (SHARP) SERVICE PHONE: 786-469-4730 Service/Intake - Home Rehabilitation Programs SERVICE DESCRIPTION: The Miami-Dade Senior Housing Assistance Repair Program (SHARP) assists low to moderate income homeowners over the age of 62 by respiring the homes which may have been damaged by weather or natural aging.
The goal of completing the repairs is to maintain livable environments for occupants, therefore decreasing the need for institutionalization. In addition, a social service assessment will be conducted by staff to ensure senior's needs are being met. SHARP projects also help to improve the value of surrounding homes and the community.
The Senior Housing Assistance Repair Program (SHARP) provide home repair and rehabilitation to residential properties> 1. Repairs to your home up to $40,000 through this program. 2.
No need to repay the loan if you remain in the home for 10 years. 3. All work will be performed by certified contractors registered with Miami-Dade County.
4. All reaper work is guaranteed by the contractor. 5.
No outside bank loan is needed, all applications are handled through Miami-Dade County. 6. No need to worry about losing your home to a scam.
ELIGIBILITY: - Homeowners must be 62 years or older. - Homeowners income should not exceed 80% of total median family household income as determined by United States Department of - Housing and Urban Development (USHUD). - Homeowners property taxes must be current.
What Repairs are eligible? - Replacement of flooring - Replace/repair kitchen cabinets - Replace/repair bathroom cabinets - Replace fans and air conditioning INTAKE PROCEDURE: To apply for SHARP call: Miami-Dade CAA at 786-469-4730 PAYMENT OPTIONS: SHARP provides participants with a forgivable, interest free loan up to $40,000.
The amount of the loan is forgiven after 10 years as long as the homeowner remains in the home for that period of time, no repayment is required. Priority is given to homes with most structural damage and to uninsured homeowners.
