Service Club Alliance Grant is sponsored by Midland Area Community Foundation. The Service Club Alliance Grant, facilitated by the Midland Area Community Foundation, promotes collaboration among local service clubs to enhance grantmaking efficiency for community organizations.

Service Club Alliance – Midland Area Community Foundation Skip to primary navigation The Service Club Alliance is a collaborative partnership between Midland area service clubs to coordinate efforts and simplify grantmaking for community organizations. The Service Club Alliance streamlines the grant process by using a common application for applicants who provide essential support to Midland County residents.

When an organization submits an application, it is automatically shared with all participating service clubs for review and consideration. This collective approach was established collaboratively by the participating clubs to ensure that community resources are allocated in the most effective and impactful way possible.

Nonprofit organizations are not limited to a specific number of requests within a given time period and are encouraged to submit applications as needs arise. The Midland Area Community Foundation is not responsible for the grantmaking decisions made by the organizations below. We serve solely as the convenor of this alliance.

Evening Exchange Club of Midland, Michigan Exchange is an all volunteer, national service organization for men and women who want to serve their community, develop leadership skills and enjoy new friendships. TO JOIN: Anyone may attend a bi-monthly meeting to see if our group is a good fit for you. We meet the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month, September through June, at 6 pm at the Eagles on Monroe.

We also have a summer and winter party that members and spouses are invited to. Interested parties do not need to be sponsored, they just need to be willing to help raise funds for the youth of the community and veteran causes. No sponsor required. Kiwassee Kiwanis Foundation The Foundation supports groups and projects that focus on children and youth. Funding is for capital projects only.

Organizations must be tax-exempt to apply. Approval of funds will be determined by the Board of Directors. Kiwanis Club of Midland & Midland Kiwanis Foundation Funding priorities (provided by Kiwanis Club of Midland): The focus of Kiwanis International and our local club is the well-being of children.

We have combined financial resources with personal skills to assist teachers in preschool and elementary classrooms, to build local playgrounds, to fund scholarships, books and equipment, classroom improvement purchases, and holiday parties at many schools and preschools in Midland County.

Projects are identified during annual interviews and visits with local schools and community centers and from applications made through the club’s website. Funds are controlled by the club’s committees and by the Midland Kiwanis Foundation Board, which oversees the management of the club’s investment income and provides most of the finances for the club’s projects.

With clubs in over 200 countries, Lions International is one of the most extensive service organizations worldwide, with over 1. 4 million members. Individual clubs within Lions International retain considerable autonomy and determine their programs.

The Midland Lions Club supports the global causes of Lions International: Vision, Hunger, Diabetes, Childhood Cancer, Environment, Disaster Relief, Humanitarian, Youth, in addition to hearing conservation. Vision and sight conservation are critical priorities for Lions International and Midland Lions.

About 40% of our charity’s budget addresses vision needs, from Project Kids Sight to assisting with eye exams, eyeglasses, and supplies for the blind (e.g., white canes). We also help address hearing needs (e.g., assistance with hearing aids).

In addition to direct programs administered by the club, much of the Midland Lion’s service is via monetary support to other organizations (e.g., Leader Dogs for the Blind, Camp Fishtales, Food Bank, Michigan All State Band, Bear Lake Camp, etc.). We also consider organizational and individual requests for assistance on a case-by-case basis.

TO JOIN: Prospective new members are encourage to complete the Invitation-Application for Membership form. If a new member does not have a sponsor, the new member will be given a sponsor. Prospective members are encouraged to contact any member of the Lions Club or may contact the Club’s Membership Chairperson.

Our Club votes to officially add new members at the second club meeting after we receive your application. Club members are expected to pay dues after they join and have been accepted. Midland Noon Exchange Club Through the Programs of Service – Americanism, Community Service, and Youth Programs – members support activities that benefit youth, promote pride in our country, and honor military and public service providers, to name a few.

The Midland Rotary Club Community Needs Committee serves to meet the financial needs for youth-oriented projects that are smaller in nature and otherwise not served by other grantors. The maximum grant is $3000, and grants are made on a just-in-time, as-needed basis. Our grants typically range up to $5,000. We do not fund ongoing operations. The foundation limits applications to every three years.

Successful applicants must provide a project summary, including photos, within 12 months of completion. There are two annual grant cycles. Applicants who would like their request to be reviewed by Midland Rotary Foundation must have a Midland Noon Rotary Club member serve as a Sponsor to their request.

The Sponsor must read the grant application ahead of submission. There is a field in the grant application form to include the Midland Noon Rotary Club sponsor name. Deadlines: October 1 and April 1.
