Grants and Technical Assistance Opportunities | Maine Office of Community Affairs Grants and Technical Assistance Opportunities The Community Resilience Partnership provides grants and technical assistance to eligible Maine communities and regional service providers assisting groups of communities to pursue climate action activities.

This includes the Partnership’s flagship grant opportunities—Community Action Grants and Service Provider Grants—and other limited period grant and technical assistance offerings, when available. The Partnership, along with other MOCA grant programs, use the grants application and management platform Submittable. (Last updated: May 28, 2026) Nature-based Design Technical Assistance Opportunity Through the Nature-based Design (NBD) opportunity, participating communities will receive direct support from a qualified engineering firm, who will provide a set number of hours to each community to develop 30% preliminary engineering designs for nature-based or hybrid strategies for one or more high priority public properties that are vulnerable to climate impacts.

The NBD technical assistance opportunity is not a grant. A successful application will not result in a funding award. Participating communities will receive technical assistance services as outlined in this Program Statement at no cost to the communities.

All communities enrolled in the Partnership are eligible to apply for this opportunity. Applicants may submit enrollment materials through the enrollment portal simultaneously with the application. Application Deadline: June 19, 2026, 5 p.

EST NBD2026 Nature-based Design Technical Assistance Program Statement (PDF) Nature Based Design Technical Assistance Opportunity Informational Webinar Slides (PDF) Service Provider Grants – Round 7 Service Provider Grants support service provider organizations to assist communities with climate action, energy and resilience planning.

There are two Service Provider Grant Tracks: Track 1 Community Enrollment Service Provider Grants enable organizations to assist up to five communities to prepare for and enroll in the Community Resilience Partnership and then apply for grant funds to undertake priority climate and energy projects.

Track 2 Community Vulnerability Assessment Service Provider Grants enable organizations to assist up to five enrolled/enrolling Communities to complete community vulnerability assessments that identify vulnerable community members, infrastructure, and assets, and then utilize that data to further prioritize climate action projects and apply for grant funds.

Service Provider organizations can apply for both grant tracks but can only submit one application per track. Applications for both Track 1 and Track 2 may be submitted at any time and are reviewed quarterly. Awards are made as funding is available and are subject to the annual program funding limit indicated in the program statement.
