Diesel Emissions Reduction Grants Advance the Maryland Clean Vehicle Initiative, with an updated goal of replacing older diesel school buses with new electric buses, providing financial assistance of up to 45 percent, with the owner providing the remainder of the purchase price.

Volkswagen Environmental Mitigation Trust Provides financial assistance for vehicle replacement projects to reduce emissions from various types of older diesel-powered heavy-duty vehicles, as well as installation of electric vehicle charging stations. Maryland Local Government Climate Action Support Program Assists counties and their municipalities in identifying high-priority greenhouse gas emissions reduction projects.

Program support may include county-specific outreach, technical support including consultation, facilitation services, and grant writing. ​ 319 Nonpoint Source Program Financial assistance for the implementation of best management practices and outreach initiatives that address and reduce nonpoint source pollution entering the state's waterways.

Each year, a Request for Proposals is released in Spring that announces requirements along with a Summer submission deadline. Wastewater Treatment Plants Fund Provides up to 100% grant funding to upgrade wastewater treatment plants with enhanced nutrient removal technologies, allowing sewage treatment plants to provide a highly advanced level of nutrient removal.

Onsite Disposal Systems Fund Provides grant funding for upgrades of existing systems to best available technology for nitrogen removal or for the marginal cost of using best available technology instead of conventional technology. Priority is given to failing systems in Critical Areas.

Biological Nutrient Removal Cost-Share Program Provides grants to local municipalities and agencies for upgrading wastewater treatment plants with biological nitrification/denitrification facilities to achieve a goal of annual average effluent concentration of 8 mg/l total nitrogen.

Sewerage Facilities Supplemental Assistance Program Provides grant funding to local governmental entities to supplement water quality loan programs, particularly in cases where affordability is a concern or where there is a need to address public health or water quality issues. State Revolving Loan Fund Provides a source of low interest financing to encourage private landowners and water system owners to implement capital improvements that will protect or improve the quality of water resources and provide safe drinking water.
