A total of $1,412,130 (approximately 4-6 awards) is available to support rape crisis centers and other non-profit, non-governmental organizations, Tribal organizations, and governmental entities (cannot be part of the criminal justice system and must offer a comparable level of confidentiality as a non-profit entity) that provide services to sexual assault survivors without regard to age of the individual.
The grant supports a wide range of services, including intervention, advocacy, accompaniment, and related assistance for survivors of sexual assault. All applicants must be able to demonstrate that they provide population-specific services to one or multiple underserved populations, and demonstrate that they are, or are developing as, a population specific organization or program.

pwd=crXNubxxwg349rETB4ra5blpdSQqdt. 1 Passcode: 355095Join by Phone: +1-669-254-5252 US SASP: Funding Organizations that Help Survivors Heal from the Trauma of Sexual Assault The Sexual Assault Services Formula Grant Program (SASP) was created by the Violence Against Women Act of 2005. SASP is the first federal fund dedicated solely to assisting organizations that help survivors heal from the trauma of sexual assault.
SASP directs grant dollars to support rape crisis centers and other nonprofit, nongovernmental organizations, Tribal organizations, or governmental entities (cannot be part of the criminal justice system and must be able to offer a comparable level of confidentiality as a nonprofit entity that provides similar victim services) providing core services, direct intervention and related assistance to those affected by sexual assault.
Victims affected include adults, youth and children; family and household members of victims; and those collaterally affected by the sexual assault victimization (e.g., friends, co-workers, classmates) except for the perpetrator.
Core services, direct intervention, and related assistance include: 24-hour sexual assault hotlines; Crisis intervention services; Medical care, criminal justice and social support accompaniment and advocacy; Information and referral; Short-term individual and group support counseling; Community-based, culturally specific services including outreach activities for underserved communities; and Development and distribution of materials on issues related to services.
The 2026 SASP Continuation Grant Awards (PDF) » were given through an application process to fund six projects serving ten counties across the state. The CVSSD SASP Subcommittee developed priorities to determine which projects receive funding.
Enhance and strengthen meaningful access to population-specific and culturally-proficient services to adult, youth and child victims of sexual assault, who are members of an underserved population, and services to family and household members of such victims and other non-offending individuals impacted by the victimization.
Direct funding to address one or more of the identified service provision gaps: Advocacy Services, Counseling and Support Group Services, Emergency Financial Support Services, Medical and Legal Accompaniment, System Collaboration and other locally documented service gaps. Direct funding to organizations that can demonstrate a track record of providing population-specific services.
Enhance equitable distribution of grants and grant funds in frontier areas. Prioritize distribution of grants and grant funds to population and culturally specific organizations. Strengthen funding stability in organizations that have developed sexual assault programs using SASP funding.
Meaningfully increase access to Office on Violence Against Women (OVW) programming for specific underserved populations (based on race, ethnicity, disability, age, etc.) meet the 40-hour Oregon DOJ/DHS Training Requirement. designate a Lead Sexual Assault Advocate to support victim and survivor access to sexual assault services.
demonstrate that each SASP funded staff person has attended an additional 24 hours of advanced sexual assault training within the last 24 months . All SASP-funded staff who do not meet the full 24-hour training requirement are required to complete the remaining training hours within the first 6 months of the grant period or, if newly hired, within 6 months of the hire date.
if the applicant organization or program does not meet the criteria of population specific program or a population specific program within a larger organization, they must designate a Population Specific Core Team of staff that will ensure that population- and culturally-specific services are made meaningfully available to underserved communities.
The Population Specific Core Team/Population Specific Lead must have attended at least 24 hours of training individually on population and culturally specific services and practices within the last 24 months .
If the Population Specific Core Team/Population Specific Lead does not meet the full 24-hour training requirement, they are required to complete the remaining training hours within the first 6 months of the grant period or, if newly hired, within 6 months of the hire date.
