New Funding Opportunity for Registered Apprentices: Short-Term Workforce Development Grant - ApprenticeshipNC New Funding Opportunity for Registered Apprentices: Short-Term Workforce Development Grant ApprenticeshipNC is excited to share a new funding opportunity available to Registered Apprentices.
The Short-Term Workforce Development Grant (STWD) provides financial assistance for students enrolled in skills training programs at any of North Carolina’s 58 community colleges.
While this grant has been available for several years, it was recently expanded to include Registered Apprentices who are actively participating in a Registered Apprenticeship Program and are enrolled in Workforce Continuing Education courses as part of their related instruction.
Eligible apprentices can receive grant funds of up to $750 per course to cover training expenses, including tuition, fees, books, supplies, credentialing tests, transportation, and childcare. We encourage you to reach out to your ApprenticeshipNC regional consultant to discuss how this opportunity may benefit your program. If you’re unsure who your consultant is, you can find a list by county at the following link: Contact – NCCCS .

About ApprenticeshipNC: Recognized by the Office of Apprenticeship to act on behalf of the U.S. Department of Labor, ApprenticeshipNC (ANC) is the State Apprenticeship Agency housed within the North Carolina Community College System.
The ApprenticeshipNC team works directly with employers, educational institutions, and community partners in all 100 North Carolina counties to design, launch, and expand Registered Apprenticeship and Registered Pre-Apprenticeship Programs. ANC also acts as an information source for individuals interested in pursuing career opportunities through Registered Apprenticeship.
