Simple Gifts Fund is sponsored by Rocky Mountain Health Foundation. The Simple Gifts Fund supports organizations on the Western Slope of Colorado that promote health in its broadest sense (physical, mental, social, emotional, and spiritual well-being).

Simple Gifts Fund - Rocky Mountain Health Foundation About the fund : Awards one-year, General Operating grants up to $15,000, with a streamlined application, expedited timeline, and minimal reporting.

This cycle is designed for organizations whose services align with these categories: community coalitions/alliances (local organizations collaborating in a RMHF focus area such as Basic Needs, Behavioral or Physical Healthcare ) community gardens (garden space for community use that includes nutrition education and supplies fresh produce to local food pantries) peer support groups (behavioral health support in a peer-group setting) respite care/in-home supports (caregiver respite and non-clinical, in-home assistance to create social connections, alleviate isolation, and help keep seniors and people living with disabilities in their homes) securing affordable health insurance focus area (offer direct services in Basic Needs: food, emergency housing, transportation, safety, immigrant/indigenous/LGBTQ+ support, resource center ; or Healthcare: physical or behavioral health clinical services, but are applying off-cycle or are a better fit here.)

Take the Eligibility Quiz to determine if your organization is eligible for grant funding. Step 2. Pre-Application Zoom Meeting A pre-application Zoom meeting is REQUIRED FOR NEW OR PREVIOUSLY DECLINED APPLICANTS.

During this call, we’ll first confirm that your organization is eligible to apply. If eligible, we’ll discuss your proposed funding request (the services/activities provided, target population, and expected results), the financial health of your organization, and go over the timeline for the cycle.

If we recommend you apply, we’ll also ask for more information about your organization, such as contact information, mission statement, and EIN. HERE is a list of the questions we will ask. You may also want to review the Simple Gifts SAMPLE GRANT and EVALUATION CRITERIA so we can discuss any questions you may have.

Check the Calendar below to see the dates for this cycle. Step 3. Grant Application You will submit the grant application through our online portal.

New or previously declined applicants: If approved to apply during our pre-application call, we’ll email you a link to our online grant application portal. Currently funded applicants: about two weeks before the grant cycle opens, you will receive an emailed link to access the grant portal and current application.

We suggest that you download the Simple Gifts SAMPLE GRANT to preview the exact application and to give you an idea of our expectation for each question. It is the same grant you will complete online, so you may use it as a template to prepare and edit your responses before completing and submitting your application through the grant portal.

All applications must be submitted online no later than 12:00 noon MST on the due date (see Calendar below). No late applications will be accepted. Whew!

Now comes a short wait, so hang tight during the review and evaluation process, which includes: Vetting by Foundation staff for alignment, completeness, and clarity. Reviewer evaluation and recommendation (read the EVALUATION CRITERIA ) Following Board approval, all applicants will be notified of the funding decision first by phone, and then with written confirmation.

If you are awarded: we’ll email you instructions on how to view and accept your award. Grants are paid via ACH following award acceptance. If you are declined: we will provide honest feedback on why your proposal wasn’t funded.

We may offer technical assistance or direct you to other resources when possible. We feel that every funding cycle is an opportunity for us to learn from each other and deepen our relationship. This cycle requires just one short, written report completed online at the end of the funding year .

You will tell us how you used the funds and what the outcomes were for the people you served. We will email you the link to complete this report when it’s time, or, if you apply the following year, the report is included in the application.
