Grantmaking Returns in 2026 The Sisters of Charity Foundation of Cleveland paused external grantmaking at the end of 2024 as leadership transitions happened at the Foundation and the Sisters of Charity Health System. This pause provided the opportunity to determine the best way to serve the community moving forward, so we could continue carrying on the inspiring legacy and mission of the Sisters of Charity of St. Augustine.
All funding inquiries should start with a letter of inquiry (LOI). To remain responsive to community needs that align with the Foundation’s mission, we accept LOI forms for grants on a rolling basis through our online grantmaking portal . We welcome eligible non-profit organizations serving Cleveland’s Central neighborhood to complete the LOI form found on the grantmaking page .
If the organization and request align with the Foundation’s mission and guidelines, we will then invite them to complete a full application. Since 1996, the Sisters of Charity Foundation of Cleveland has sought to increase the community’s ability to improve the lives of people living in poverty in the spirit of the Sisters of Charity of St. Augustine.
We work with grantees to evaluate outcomes and share knowledge with the community, advocate for systemic change, and represent the unique needs of the people we serve through community-wide collaborations and partnerships.
