Skydiving Program

Skydiving Program is sponsored by Veteran's Adventure Group. This program enables veterans to become licensed skydivers through drop zone (DZ) partnerships by providing funding for Accelerated Free Fall (AFF) training. It aims to reduce the high-cost barrier to skydiving while connecting veterans with a tight-knit community.

Veterans Adventure Group - Air Programs Skydiving program Mission. Our mission is to enable veterans to become licensed skydivers through drop zone (DZ) partnerships and integrate them into the skydiving community. Partner with drop zones local to the veteran to provide Accelerated Free Fall (AFF) Training and continued training as the veteran earns their class A skydiving license.

Insert veterans into the tight-knit skydiving community through active participation. Facilitate additional qualifications such as coach ratings, wingsuit training, CRW, and skydiving competitions. Host drop zone fundraisers to support the REMY jump program and build the skydiving community.

Our goal is to reduce the high-cost barrier to skydiving while connecting the veteran with a tight-knit community centered around skydiving. We are the only program that offers a path to earn your skydiving license for veterans who have not been wounded. This program is designed for those serious about learning to skydive and becoming part of the DZ community.

Skydiving has a very high barrier cost, and we help reduce that cost by providing funding for accelerated freefall training (AFF). The veteran will undergo ground school before starting the 7 jumps required for AFF. By the end of AFF, you’ll be jumping solo out of airplanes as a skydiving student.

After completing AFF, the veteran will need to complete additional tasks and another 18 jumps to qualify for their A license. We may provide the veteran with a temporary skydiving rig to use for packing training as well as to eliminate gear rental fees. Each DZ has unique packages for those learning to skydive, so we coordinate with the DZ to find the best fit for the veteran.

Participants will quickly learn skydiving is a very close community with several events all over the world. Once participants complete their A rating, we will occasionally provide opportunities to earn additional licenses and qualifications. 8 veterans have completed their Accelerated Free Fall training and received their class A skydiving license through Veterans Adventure Group.

Frequently Asked Questions Why have so few veterans received this training? Each veteran applicant goes through multiple screenings by Veterans Adventure Group and the DZ to ensure they are a good fit for the program. Skydiving requires a lot of time and requires a large financial investment.

We want to ensure the veteran will remain an active participant in the sport. This is not a program for those curious about skydiving, but rather a program for those dedicated to making skydiving part of their life. Where do you run this prograM?

We can usually work with any local DZ. In the past, we have worked with Music City Skydiving and Skydive TN in Tennessee, Skydive Awesome in Oregon, and Skydive Kapowsin in Washington. Are there any fees?

We require a $500-$1000 deposit to be made before ground school and AFF begins. These funds will remain in our account at the DZ and will be released to the veteran after completion of AFF. They will remain in the account at the DZ and can only be used for the additional jumps needed to finish the rating.

If the veteran doesn’t complete AFF within 6 months, they will lose their deposit. If the veteran needs to retest on any of the AFF jumps, they will be expected to pay out of pocket for retest fees, approx $150-$300 depending on the level. Do I need any previous skydiving experience to participate?

All participants are required to complete at least 1 tandem skydive before they will be considered for this program. Does veterans adventure group conduct the training? All of the skydiving training is conducted by the local DZ staff.

Veterans Adventure Group only facilitates the transfer of funds and coordination with DZ staff to ensure the training is moving forward. Are you interested in the skydiving or REMY program?
