DOEE Sustainability Subgrants - Center for Nonprofit Advancement The Center for Nonprofit Advancement and the DC Department of Energy and Environment (DOEE) have partnered to launch the Small & Accessible Sustainability (SAS) Subgrants program .
This innovative initiative is designed to advance the District’s sustainability, donation and reuse, zero waste, and urban agriculture goals while directly supporting small , new , and historically-excluded (SNHE) organizations.
E mpowering community-based sustainability Through this partnership, the Center awarded 10–15 subgrants ranging from $5,000–$20,000 each, with total funding of $110,000, to community-rooted organizations implementing creative, local projects. Announcing Our 2026 SAS Subgrants Awardees We are thrilled to announce the selected awardees who will be driving impactful projects through the SAS Subgrants program.
These organizations were chosen for their innovative approaches and commitment to advancing sustainability in the District, especially in Wards 7 and 8.
