Small Business Construction Mitigation Grant

Small Business Construction Mitigation Grant is sponsored by Salt Lake City. This grant supports businesses in Salt Lake City that have been negatively impacted by nearby construction sites. Eligible independent merchants in the restaurant, retail, and bar spaces can get grants to put toward rent/mortgage, marketing, and business improvements.

Offset business costs during construction-related hardship. Support marketing and outreach to let customers know the business is still open.

Grants range from $500 to $3,000 Construction must be related to a Salt Lake City public project Applications are accepted year-round Allow 4–6 weeks for processing Grants are not guaranteed and are based on need and available funding Eligibility and Requirements Be a small, independent business or nonprofit with fewer than 50 employees.

Operate from a brick-and-mortar location (retail, restaurant, or bar) within city limits with a valid business license. (Owners do not need to live in Salt Lake City) Show financial hardship due to construction (loss of foot traffic, reduced access, or other disruption). Provide proof of business activity (profit & loss statements).
