Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) Grants - Phase II (R42) | Grants & Funding U.S. Department of Health and Human Services National Institutes of Health Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) Grants - Phase II (R42) To help small businesses that partner with a nonprofit research institution bring scientific innovations to the marketplace.
The STTR supports research and development (R&D) awards to eligible United States small business concerns only. The following programs fall under the R42 activity code: Phase II: Phase II recipients continue the research and development (R&D) efforts initiated in Phase I.
Fast-Track : The NIH STTR Fast-Track allows both Phase I and Phase II of a project to be submitted and reviewed together as one application to reduce or eliminate the funding gap between phases. Direct to Phase II: Small businesses with demonstrated feasibility and technical merit but have not received a Phase I SBIR or STTR for that project, can apply for a Direct to Phase II.
