Small Grants - Global Center on Cooperative Security The Global Center provides grants to grassroots peacebuilding and conflict prevention organizations to help ensure their sustainability. We believe that the most effective efforts to stem violent extremism are those locally developed, delivered, and owned by changemakers in communities directly affected by violence and injustice.

Despite the tremendous contributions of civil society organizations in fostering resilience to violent extremism at the local level, these groups often lack the funding, access, and infrastructure to deliver sustained programming. Furthermore, they face real security concerns and an ever-shrinking civic space.

The Global Center makes significant investments through our small grants programing in the institutional capacity of our grantee partners. Established to support organizations in regions impacted by violent extremism, we prioritize grassroots groups and those led by women and young people.

We provide funding for local leaders to envision and execute their own violence prevention and peacebuilding interventions, which for many marks the first time they receive funding or recognition from an international donor. We have pioneered a holistic suite of support for program design, proposal writing and grant reporting, monitoring and evaluation, and financial management.
