2025 Small Grant Funding – Call for Proposals – CBSIG The Consumer Behavior Special Interest group of the AMA is a group of nearly 1,000 AMA academics interested in consumer behavior insights for managerial decision making. To help our members, and student members of the AMA-DOCSIG, CBSIG is offering multiple $1500 competitive research grants on the theme of Managerially Relevant Consumer Insights.
This research funding seeks to advance theory and practice relating consumer insights to business strategies. We encourage a wide range of research ideas and behavioral research methodologies, provided the focus is on consumers and managerial insights. Information on past grant winners appears here .
All research grant proposals are to be submitted as a pdf document via this survey link: https://gbs. qualtrics. emory.

The pdf document should be structured as follows: 1) Cover page with the contact information of all researchers involved 2) Abstract/executive summary summarizing the research plan and expected outcomes 3) Potential CB Insights for Managerial Decision-Making 4) Summary of results to date (if any) 5) Detailed research plan 6) Budget table (The budget requested should be $1500 or less) 7) Statement of need, including other research funding for this project 8) References (please limit references to just those most applicable to evaluating the proposed research, not a full lit review) Any figures and tables should be embedded, and the total word count should be no more than 2000 words (inclusive of everything) .
Please format your grant proposal generally according to the Journal of Marketing style guidelines (12-point Times New Roman, double-spaced, etc.). Further inquiries can be directed to CBSIG Chair Ryan Hamilton . Applicants for a CBSIG research grant must be current members of the AMA Consumer Behavioral Special Interest Group (CBSIG) or the AMA Doctoral Student Special Interest Group (DOCSIG).

Selection will be based on fit with the SIG’s focus on consumer behavior insights for managerial decision making , conceptual and methodological rigor, feasibility, and anticipated significance of the findings.
The need for funding will also be a considered factor. Decisions will be announced by June 15, 2025 .
