Social Innovations Grants - Tulsa Area United Way Social Innovations Grants As an open, competitive funding application, TAUW’s Social Innovations Grants provide one-time funding for organizations to test innovative ideas. The process opened July 1, 2026. Nonprofits submit applications outlining an innovative approach to a complex social issue.

A committee of community volunteers reviews applications and makes funding decisions. Finalists present to a live crowd for a chance to win an Audience Choice Award. TAUW’s Social Innovations Grants provide one-time funding for organizations to pilot, test, or grow innovative ideas in the areas of youth opportunity, healthy communities, financial security, and community resiliency.

These grants are designed to give nonprofits critical resources to boost internal capacity, enhance services, address service gaps, and expand impact in new and creative ways. An after-hours vending machine offering basic needs resources and virtual volunteer support for Tulsa’s unhoused community in resource deserts. BeHeard earned a Pitch United Audience Choice Award.

A trauma-informed cafe addressing homelessness for justice-impacted women and fire-affected families through skills training, stipends, and support. Carabelle's earned a Pitch United Audience Choice Award. A parent-led Walking School Bus addressing chronic absenteeism through a parent leadership model.

Met Cares received a Social Innovations Award. A pilot shuttle linking North and East Tulsa graduates to living-wage jobs at the Tulsa Port, removing transportation barriers to stable careers. Modus received a Social Innovations Award.

Tulsa Cornerstone Assistance Network YouthWorks Mobile Pizza & Produce Trolley. Mobilizing North Tulsa students to improve neighborhood health through food and nutrition activities. Received a Social Innovations Award.
