# Soil and Water Conservation [](https://dnr. mo. gov/land-geology/soil-water-conservation) The Missouri Department of Natural Resources administers the policies and general programs developed by the Soil and Water Districts Commission, to assist farmers and landowners with soil and water conservation.
The department provides partial reimbursement for 52 soil and water conservation cost-share practices through the soil and water conservation district offices. These funds are provided by the one-tenth-of-one-percent Parks, Soils and Water Sales Tax. Learn more about how you can improve water quality by reducing sedimentation in rivers and streams.
