Algebra 1 end-of-course test, as demonstrated by their individual performance on any diagnostic test that has been approved by the Department of Education.
The ARI consists of two major components: 1. a diagnostic assessment designed to guide instructional decisions for students that may need intervention services; and 2. targeted intervention services for students.

The Robotics Grant Program is a grant from the Alabama State Department of Education (ALSDE) that funds school-based robotics programs for elementary, middle, and high school students. Awarded through a competitive application process, the program provides up to $3,500 to eligible local education agencies (LEAs) in Alabama. Applicants must be public school systems submitting on behalf of schools with K–12 students. The grant supports the purchase of robotics equipment and program development aligned with AMSTI guidelines. Applications are submitted online through the AMSTI Robotics Grant portal. The Fiscal Year 2026 application deadline was September 30, 2025. Questions should be directed to robotics@amsti.org. The program is managed by the Alabama State Department of Education under State Superintendent Eric G. Mackey.
The Department of Education's IES SBIR program is one of the most overlooked non-dilutive funding sources for education-technology startups. It funds prototypes at $250K and proven products at $1M with no equity taken. Here is how the FY2026 tracks work, what reviewers reward, and why the June 29 deadline is tighter than it looks.
Read articleNSF's CAREER program — a minimum $400,000 over five years for pre-tenure faculty — has a single annual deadline on July 22, 2026. It rewards the integration of research and education, not research alone, and that is exactly where most proposals fail. Here is the eligibility math, the integration trap, and how to position in a tightening federal funding climate.
Read articleFederal appropriators added $15 billion in new Pell Grant funding to the FY 2026 appropriations package on top of the standard appropriation level — a response to a structural shortfall that CBO scored at $5.4 billion in FY 2026 and $11.5 billion in FY 2027. The Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget projects a cumulative gap of $61 billion to $97 billion through 2035 even after the one-time fix. Meanwhile, the One Big Beautiful Bill Act expanded eligibility to short-term Workforce Pell programs, adding $2 to $6 billion in new costs. The Pell program is the foundation of need-based federal student aid, but the structural mismatch between rising costs and appropriations is a permanent feature now. Here is what that means for institutions, foundations, and state higher-ed agencies.
