Solar Moonshot Program Grant is sponsored by Solar Moonshot. Grants to nonprofit organizations for transition to clean, renewable energy through solar installations, prioritizing projects in Communities of Concern and those serving youth and educational institutions.

Including a teen homeless shelter in New Mexico, a K-8 charter school in the heart of Detroit, and many more. Solar Moonshot is the model more donors and foundations should use to help support and grow solar usage in hard hit communities. Every project saves the receiving organization $2500 to $5,000 a year in electricity costs.

That is money that goes right back into the community to support local youth, ministries, food programs, schools, and more. Solar Moonshot is a force multiplier that puts donated funds to immediate work in our communities. The application process is very simple while their management and monitoring of the entire process is streamlined and effective which means the dollars are spent wisely and the project is completed quickly.

The Boggs [school in Detroit] was especially rewarding as the students raised 10% of the funds as a match through school based science projects. Parents and local donors then matched the money raised by the students. None of this would have been possible without Solar Moonshot."

"At Habitat for Humanity La Crosse Area in Wisconsin, we were extremely fortunate to work with Hammond Climate Solutions and Solar Moon Shot. We received a generous donation to complete the solar installation on our Habitat ReStore. This project covers 100% of our electrical usage and saves us money as a non-profit to do more towards our mission of making sure everyone has a safe and affordable place to call home.

Grants with near-term installation plans will receive priority as it's the goal of the Solar Moonshot Program to get as much solar installed as quickly as possible to help mitigate the climate crisis.
