The SCVMA Education and Scholarship Foundation (501-c-3) was incorporated in 2015 to provide student scholarships and continuing education programs. In 2025, the foundation was expanded to offer resources, grants, and scholarships to improve animal and human welfare. The new and improved foundation is now called the Southern California Veterinary Medical Foundation.
In order to help the veterinary community recover and get back to fully serving their communities, the SCVMF offers grant funding for veterinary professionals impacted by the fires. The Veterinary Practice Disaster Relief Grant provides reimbursement for out-of-pocket expenses incurred while caring for injured or displaced animals or for expenses resulting from damage from the fires.
The Disaster Emergency Expense Grant reimburses for expenses incurred for necessities (food, clothing, temporary shelter) immediately following the fires. **DEADLINE EXTENDED TO DECEMBER 31** For information related to disaster grants and resource support, email scvmainfo@scvma.
