The Specialty Crop Block Grant Program aims to enhance the competitiveness of specialty crops, defined as fruits, vegetables, tree nuts, dried fruits, horticulture, and nursery crops. While states apply directly to USDA AMS, they often partner with nonprofit organizations, producer groups, and universities to develop their applications and administer the program. Organic Market Development Grant Program is a grant from the USDA Agricultural Marketing Service that funds investments to create new and improved markets for domestically produced organic products. The program supports expanded certified organic processing capacity, development of commercial markets, and product innovations that create new uses for producers who currently lack markets, such as rotational grains and organic legumes. Priority is given to applications addressing organic grains and livestock feed, organic legumes, and organic ingredients not currently available in commercial form. Eligible applicants include agricultural businesses, cooperatives, and nonprofits working to expand the U.S. organic market.
