Specific Cultural Projects (Individual Artist Project Grant) is sponsored by Florida Department of State: Division of Arts and Culture. This grant funds artist-driven projects with public benefit that enhance Florida through the creation or presentation of artistic work in all disciplines. Individuals must be Florida-based artists and not enrolled in a degree or certificate program.

(EST) Grant Period for Next Application Cycle: July 1, 2027 through June 30, 2028 The Specific Cultural Project (SCP) grant is designed to fund a single cultural project, program, exhibition or series taking placing within the grant period (July 1 – June 30). The grant activities must support the mission of the organization or artist and further the state's cultural objectives. Organizations and individuals are both eligible to apply.

All current and previous grantees must be in good standing with the Division of Arts and Culture and the Department of State at the time of application. Applicant organization must be either a public entity or a Florida non-profit, tax exempt corporation as of the application deadline. Exception: Individuals may apply for the Artist Project, Artist Performances on Tour, and Teaching Artist grants.

All organizations must have at least one year of completed arts and cultural programming and be able to provide their last completed fiscal year’s operating budget. Applicant must have registered with the Division of Corporations , and their status be “active,” as of the application deadline.

Applicant must be registered as a vendor with the Department of Financial Services , and be able to provide a copy of their Florida Substitute W-9 form. Applicant must have a UEI Number . Several discipline-based program areas have their own eligibility requirements.

For more information, see pages 8 -18 of the SCP Guidelines . All project activities must be in strict accordance with all applicable federal and state laws. Grant activities that do not demonstrate compliance with federal or state laws will not be funded.

Discipline- b ased projects include dance, literature, media arts (i.e., film, radio or television), museum, music, presenter, theatre, traditional arts and visual arts. Arts in Education projects promote arts and culture in education .

There are two types of Arts in Education grants for organizations. Arts Partnership supports project s that will advance arts education and the development of long-term partnerships between community arts and cultural organizations, social service agencies and educational entities . Artist Residency projects place professional Florida artists in a variety of ed ucation and community settings .

All applicants must be Florida-based artists and may not be enrolled in a degree or certificate program. Artists applying as individuals must create a profile in the grant portal . For more information about the project types and eligibility requirements , see pages 11 -17 of the SCP Guidelines .

There are two categories for artists. Teaching Artist fund s artists providing educational services in Florida public schools. Applicants must be able to provide evidence of classroom experience.

Artist Performances on Tour provides funding to performing artists for touring activities in Florida; touring activities include both a performance and an educational component. Funds from this grant are allocated by the State of Florida, Department of State, Division of Arts and Culture to meet the required cost share or match for federal funding from the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) State Partnership Award and as such are considered NEA subawards.

All funds disbursed under this program may only be used in compliance with both State and Federal regulations including applicable provisions of 2 CFR 200, Uniform Administrative Requirements, Cost Principles, and Audit Requirements for Federal Awards, National Policy Requirements and all other applicable statutes, regulations, and executive orders.
