Splash Grant - West Multnomah Soil & Water Conservation District Want to make a Splash ? Apply for our Splash Grant, a program that support s events and small projects that benefit the residents within the service area of the West Multnomah Soil & Water Conservation District.
These grants are intended to help groups c arry out events and short-term projects that improve the environment or educate about environmental health, including air and water quality, wildlife habitats, and soil health. Grants from $100-$1,000 are available, out of a total budget of $10,000 for the program. Applicants will be notified about grant awards approximately 3 weeks after their application deadline.

Apply for our Splash Grant, which is a small grant program that supports events and projects that benefit the residents within the service area of the West Multnomah Soil & Water Conservation District, whether by taking place in the service area or otherwise through targeted engagement.
These grants are intended to help groups carry out projects and events that improve the environment or educate about environmental health, including air and water quality, wildlife habitats, and soil health. The focus is on short-term projects or specific funding needed to support your plans. See the grant guide for project examples.
Eligible Organizations: Non-profit organizations, community groups (with a 501(c)(3) fiscal sponsor), schools and educational institutions, Tribal governments or Indigenous community groups, and local government agencies. Private landowners and for-profit businesses are not eligible and should explore other District programs. Past grant recipients must have completed all reporting and be in good standing to reapply.
Current Ripple Grantees are not eligible to apply until that grant is completed. The Splash Grant program supports objectives that match our goals in our District's Strategic Directions . Here’s a list of our strategic directions, and examples of how they could be represented in Splash Grant projects.

The Splash Program will have application due dates and reviews every 2 months. Please check back as future due dates will be added as old ones are removed. We recommend applying 2-4 months before you need your funding.
Apply by August 23 for September funding. Apply by February 7 for March funding. Future grant deadlines to be announced here.
Frequently Asked Questions What if the project needs a permit? It is the responsibility of the applicant to ensure the project is compliant with all local, state, and federal permitting requirements. Can private landowners apply?
No. Landowners are not eligible for this program but may be eligible for other forms of assistance from WMSWCD. Are community or school garden projects eligible? Yes.
Community and school gardens that improve soil health, water management, or habitat for historically underserved communities are eligible to apply. Can I apply for more money? See our Ripple Grant for larger-scale projects for funding $10,000 - $25,000.
