Spring Activity Grants - City of Columbus, Ohio opens in new tab or window Grant information and overview The Office of Violence Prevention intends to invest in community-based and local non-profits to support youth who reside within the City’s corporate boundary.
The purpose of this investment, which will be made available to selected organizations in the form of a grant, is to expand opportunities for Columbus youth to enhance safe and effective non-violent conflict resolution skills, increase emotional intellectual development, assist in community enrichment with a violence prevention focus, and provide safe spaces for youth.
Grant Application & Information The Office of Violence Prevention encourages eligible organizations to consider applying for funding to support spring youth proposals that fulfill one or more of the following outcomes: Enhance the understanding and use of non-violent conflict resolution skills and/or assist youth in developing skills to disrupt youth or community violence Increase emotional intellectual development of youth and/or assist in community enrichment with a violence prevention focus Provide safe spaces for youth To be eligible for funding consideration, the applicant organization must be registered as a 501(c)3 nonprofit with the Internal Revenue Service or apply using a fiduciary agent, implement the proposal during the spring months (March through May) to young people between the ages of 5 and 18 who reside in the City of Columbus.
Organizations must also be registered vendors with the City of Columbus. Information about how to become a vendor can be found here. Organizations may receive up to $75,000.
Organizations that are selected for funding can expect to receive the full grant award in one installment. The deadline to submit an application for consideration is on Friday, January 10, 2025 at 5PM.
All applications will be screened for eligibility and then evaluated by a review committee according to the following criteria: • Alignment with one or more outcomes: To enhance safe and effective non-violent conflict resolution skills, increase emotional intellectual development, assist in community enrichment with a violence prevention focus, and provide safe spaces for youth outside of school hours.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and productively with community partners • Proposal is based in areas experiencing high rates of violence • Submission of a complete application, budget, and other required forms Wednesday, December 18, 2024 at 12PM: Grant application is open for submissions Friday, December 20, 2024 at 12PM: Virtual Information Session* Monday, January 6, 2025 at 6:30PM: Virtual Information Session* Friday, January 10, 2025 at 5PM: Deadline to submit grant application Email questions to ovp@columbus.
