Housing + Health: Capital Funding Priority: Affordable Housing Capital investments that support rural and other marginalized communities in leveraging resources for affordable housing.
Affordable housing in the “final mile” of construction (as demonstrated by having land acquired and permits secured, construction started and most financing committed), OR Projects in existing affordable housing communities that extend the life of the property, improve resident affordability, or address health and safety risks (e.g., upgrades to energy efficiency, protection against extreme weather, remediation of unsafe conditions such as mold) Eligibility Applicants must be: A tax-exempt 501(c)(3) located and operating in Bastrop, Caldwell, Hays, Travis, or Williamson counties, OR Local government located in and serving rural Central Texas communities (e.g. those outside the City of Austin.
Proposed projects must predominantly serve households at or below 50% area median income and demonstrate a commitment to resident-led decision making.
