Cancer Travel Assistance Grants - Stage4Hope Cancer Travel Expense Grants Helping Patients with Travel Assistance Grants Stage4Hope provides Cancer Travel Expense Grants to help advanced-stage cancer patients and their caregivers overcome the financial barriers of traveling for treatment. We know that life-saving care is not always available close to home.
These grants help cover the costs of getting to top cancer centers so that patients can focus on healing, not logistics.
U.S. residents with Stage 3 or Stage 4 cancer Must be traveling 100+ miles one-way or require an overnight stay for treatment In active treatment or scheduled for a second opinion (Stage 3 or 4 only) Support is for the patient and one caregiver Applications must include verification from the patient’s oncology team Hotel stays near the treatment center ( must first check free/charity lodging such as Hope Lodge ) Ground transportation (gas, tolls, parking, ride services, or public transit) Meals while traveling for treatment Typical trip: $500 – $1,000 High-cost cities or multi-day stays: up to $1,500 Maximum per patient per 12 months: $1,500 (exceptions possible for urgent needs) How to Apply for Cancer Travel Expense Grants Application – Download form and complete.
Submit to info@stage4hope. org Verification – Download form and submit for your oncology care team or social worker must confirm your diagnosis, treatment, and travel details. Income verification for household income – Provide and submit recent tax forms (1040- first pg or W-2's, SSI/SSDI letter- if applicable), or if no taxes filed- hardship letter on letterhead from social worker or care team.
Review – We respond to applications within 3 business days of receipt of all documents ; emergencies can be handled faster. Payment – Stage4Hope reimburses approved lodging, airfare, and transportation expenses after travel. Gas and meals are provided as set stipends.
