Eligible projects are improvements to roads, bridges, culverts, water supply systems, wastewater systems, stormwater collection systems, and solid waste disposal facilities. This program is related to the funding agency's Local Transportation Improvement Program (LTIP) More Informationhttps://publicworks. ohio.
gov/programs/infrastucture/scip-ltip/01-scip-ltip Financial Details An unspecified amount of funding is available to support grants and/or loans, or grant/loan combinations through this program. Funding assistance is also available in the form of loan assistance or local debt support. There are no restrictions regarding the amount that may be requested for a loan.
Loan assistance is a grant used to pay the interest on a public or private construction loan during the construction period. Construction must have started within three years prior to the date of the project agreement. An application for loan assistance may not be combined with an application for a grant and/or loan.
Disbursement of program funding will be made directly to an authorized lending institution or as a reimbursement to the award recipient. Loans have a minimum term of 1 year and a maximum term of 30 years, not exceeding the useful life of the project. The interest rate for loans is zero percent.
Once the project is completed, a final amortization schedule will be provided requiring payments every January and July until the term of the loan expires. Loans may be paid in full with no prepayment penalty. Refer to pages 2-4 of the NOFA file for detailed loan information.
