Designated Grants | Legislative Grants - Rhode Island State Designated Grants, formerly known as Community Service Grants, are funded through the state budget. In 2016, the Community Service Grant program was eliminated and replaced in favor of state agency-administered itemized budget appropriations and competitive grants.
The Department of Administration’s Office of Accounts and Control has developed a standard payment policy and uniform set of procedures that will enhance the transparency and accountability of our state grant-funding system, while also taking into account best practices from across state and federal entities.
If you are a recipient of a Rhode Island State Designated Grant, the State Agency responsible for managing your award will contact you with instructions on how to apply. As of FY23, the Designated Grant Application Portal is hosted in the Grant Management System.
In FY25, the Grants Management Office in partnership with Euna Grants have added new enhancements to the application & review process for Designated Grants with the introduction of the Application Review Manager (ARM).
With ARM, the Grants Management System received user interface updates and new tools for recipients to utilize such as the Project Team Sharing Tool which allows multiple users from a single organization to work on applications simultaneously in the system.
