Affordable Connectivity Program This program helps those in need pay for high-speed internet service and technology. Not accepting applications FCC Chair Rosenworcel announced on May 31, 2024, that due to a lack of additional congressional funding, the agency will officially end the ACP.
ReConnect Loan and Grant Program This program helps expand high-speed internet access in rural areas. Funds support construction, facilities, and equipment. Not accepting applications USDA Secretary Vilsack announced on March 12, 2024, that the USDA is making investments to provide clean drinking water, sanitary wastewater systems, and affordable high-speed internet to people in tribal communities.
Capital Projects Fund This program helps state governments fund capital projects and infrastructure. It works to expand high-speed internet to deliver vital services. Not accepting applications Governor Kemp announced on June 12, 2023, nearly $15 million in preliminary grant awards for broadband internet expansion through the second round of the Capital Project Fund Grant Program.
State Digital Equity Planning Grant Program A $60 million formula grant program for states, territories, and tribal governments to develop digital equity plans. Not accepting applications Georgia Broadband Map Petition The petition process allows entities to submit data showing that locations and census blocks should be designated differently.
Not accepting applications Broadband Infrastructure Program A program for states and internet providers to support high-speed internet infrastructure projects. It aims to expand internet service in areas that lack access. Not accepting applications The Department of Commerce's NTIA announced on February 25, 2022, it has awarded 13 grants as part of the Broadband Infrastructure Program.
Connecting Minority Communities Pilot Program This program helps colleges and institutions that serve minority and tribal communities. It provides funds to buy internet equipment and hire staff to help with technology.
Not accepting applications Georgia Broadband Deployment Initiative The initiative calls for the promotion and deployment of broadband services throughout the state to unserved areas with a minimum of 25 Mbps download and 3 Mbps upload speeds.
Not accepting applications State Fiscal Recovery Fund The SLFRF program, a part of the American Rescue Plan, delivers $350 billion to state, local, and tribal governments across the nation to support their response to and recovery from the COVID-19 public health emergency.
Not accepting applications Governor Kemp, joined by members of the Broadband Infrastructure Committee and state leaders, announced on February 1, 2022, almost $408 million in preliminary awards which will provide communities, households, and businesses in 70 Georgia counties access to faster and more reliable broadband. Enabling Middle Mile Broadband Infrastructure Program This program expands middle mile infrastructure.
It aims to reduce the cost of connecting unserved and underserved areas. Not accepting applications The Department of Commerce's NTIA announced on October 4, 2022, preliminary data that shows over 235 applications were submitted totaling more than $5. 5 billion in funding requests for the program, part of the Biden-Harris Administration's commitment to investing in affordable high-speed internet for all.
