Assistance to Firefighters Grants Program The Assistance to Firefighters Grants Program (AFGP) funds critically needed resources to equip and train emergency personnel, enhance efficiencies and support community resilience. This program is comprised of the Assistance to Firefighters Grants (AFG), Fire Prevention & Safety (FP&S) grants and the Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response (SAFER) grants.
Counter Unmanned Aircraft Systems Grant Program The Counter-Unmanned Aircraft Systems (C-UAS) Grant Program provides funding to enhance state, local, tribal, and territorial capabilities to detect, identify, track, or monitor unmanned aircraft systems. The program helps combat the unlawful use of unmanned aircraft systems that pose a threat to the safety and security of the American people, communities, and institutions.
Emergency Management Baseline Assessment Grant Program The Emergency Management Baseline Assessment Grant (EMBAG) program provides non-disaster funding to support developing, maintaining, and revising voluntary national-level standards and peer-review assessment processes for emergency management and using these standards and processes to assess state, local, tribal, and territorial emergency management programs and professionals.

Since 2002, DHS has awarded more than $58 billion to grant recipients to prevent, protect against and respond to terrorist threats and other hazards to the nation. On February 27, 2023, DHS released the Fiscal Year 2023 Notices of Funding Opportunity for eight preparedness grant programs totaling over $2 billion, an increase of $360 million over FY 2022. Award Allocations from these NOFOs are included in Information Bulletin No. 484 .
