State Grants for Assistive Technology HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES, DEPARTMENT OF ADMINISTRATION FOR COMMUNITY LIVING (ACL) The 2004 amendments to the Assistive Technology Act of 1998 supports State efforts to improve the provision of assistive technology to individuals with disabilities through comprehensive statewide programs of technology-related assistance, for individuals with disabilities of all ages.

Applicants are designated by Governors. Disabled (e.g. Deaf, Blind, Physically Disabled), Public nonprofit institution/organization Beneficiary eligibility is the same as applicant eligibility. Individuals with disabilities, States, and community-based organizations providing services to individuals with disabilities will benefit.
Grants are awarded to carry out the functions authorized under the Act. States may provide assistance to Statewide community-based organizations or directly to individuals with disabilities of all ages. Technical assistance contracts support States and other entities.
This program is subject to non-supplanting requirements and must use a restricted indirect cost rate which is referenced under the Act. Deadline determined at as part of the Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) Preapplication coordination is required. Environmental impact information is not required for this program.
This program is eligible for coverage under E. O. 12372, "Intergovernmental Review of Federal Programs."
