We award strategic grants with a narrow focus on first responder programming and technology and engineering education. We provide disaster relief and support for both human-made and natural disasters across the globe. We invest our time and resources to uplift and support the communities where our employees live and work.

We support employee engagement by providing charitable donations for employees’ volunteer hours and monetary contributions. We enable our employees’ philanthropic passions by facilitating volunteer opportunities in their local communities. We support initiatives that promote the mental wellness of our everyday heroes and #FightTheStigma.

In 2024, employees in 48 U.S. states – and across nearly 40 countries – logged 60,000+ volunteer hours during our Global Months of Service, resulting in $260K in donations. CEO Award for Volunteerism The Foundation recognizes the exemplary volunteer efforts of a select group of employees each year with the company’s highest volunteer honor: the CEO Award for Volunteerism.

Recipients receive an award and $5,000 to designate toward a nonprofit. Local Engagement Committees offer employees the opportunity to serve as site-specific volunteer ambassadors. Employees can organize service projects with local nonprofits, ensuring support for the communities in which we live and work.

CEO Award for Volunteerism Serves as a literacy tutor and role model for incarcerated young men at the Illinois Youth Center. Inspires the next generation of technology leaders as a nearly 20-year mentor and coach for FIRST Robotics.

Takes the Galvin Masters Annual Day of Service to the next level, helping local organizations like the Foster Alliance, a nonprofit that serves youth in foster care, make a greater impact for its beneficiaries. Addresses food insecurity in his community by helping to expand service and reduce wait times at Grace Community Food Pantry.

Leads a scouting troop for nearly 60 visually impaired students in Krakow through the Polish Scouting Organization. Mexico Volunteer Committee (Viviana & Mónica) Increased volunteer hours logged at the site by a record 200% year over year, with employees logging nearly 900 volunteer hours.

Supporting Motorolans’ philanthropic pursuits We support Motorolans giving back to their communities through the Motorola Matches program which matches volunteer hours (Donations for Doers) and charitable donations (Donations for Donors). Employee grant review committees The Foundation offers Motorolans in North America the opportunity to participate in our annual grant program by evaluating grant applications.

In appreciation of their time, employees can direct a grant to an eligible nonprofit. National Merit Motorola Solutions Scholarship This scholarship, administered by the National Merit® Scholarship Program, was established by the Foundation for children of Motorola Solutions employees who are U.S. high school students and National Merit Scholars.

Explore featured grant partners The free, 10-week IT Support bootcamp equips 40 participants facing employment barriers with the technical and soft skills needed for entry-level IT roles, connecting learner potential with employer demand. Canadian Fallen Firefighters Foundation (CFFF) CFFF provides scholarships for children and spouses of fallen firefighters.

They award four-year scholarships and bursary awards annually, with the ultimate goal of providing educational assistance to every child of a fallen firefighter. Instituto Rogerio Steinberg Skills Development for the Bottom of the Pyramid teaches 100 gifted children, ages 8-17 from low-income families in Brazil to think critically and use engineering or technology in creative approaches to solve real-world problems.

The Innocent Justice Foundation The HART program provides online and in-person wellness training to 340 first responders annually across the United States. Topics include identifying trauma symptoms, team wellness and tools for building resilience and neuroplasticity.

University of Chicago Crime Lab The Policing Leadership Academy trains police managers across the United States through a rigorous, expert-informed curriculum to help their departments prevent violent crime, better manage employees and build stronger community relationships.

The Tech Fundamentals program is a free, 20-week course for 270 United States military veterans and vulnerable adults, providing the technical skills, certifications and career support needed to secure quality tech jobs.
