org ) AFCEA-CMD’s STEM Kickstarter Program awards grants in the range of $500 - $5000 to schools in the central Maryland region for initiatives focused on STEM related disciplines of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math. The Scientific Education committee reviews grant proposals submitted on behalf of the school by an administrator, teacher, parent, or student.
Proposals should be well written and in depth, describing how the funds will be used, the number of students who will benefit from the use of the funds, and the impact of not receiving funds. The STEM Kickstarter awards will be based on the intended use of the funds, the number of students influenced, and the need of the school/department.
Please nominate your school by submitting a proposal that addresses the following criteria: Details on how the school will use the funds. Our grants are awarded primarily for applied Technology, Engineering, and Math.
Examples could include electronic networking services for on-line research; computers or peripherals; hardware such as meters, wires, etc. for electrical experiments; experiment kits; special STEM books, tools, new educational programs, drones, etc. Consideration for why the school deserves special support, including how the school will use these funds to overcome challenges they may have in providing STEM education for students.
