STEM Opportunity Fund - Outreach Foundation Our STEM Opportunity Fund awards grants that provide access for students, educators, and the community to engage in hands-on STEM. These grants aim to support hands-on STEM experiences and opportunities for each and every student. Applicants will be asked to describe how their event seeks to provide these opportunities, for their community.
These grants encompass: programs/projects < $10,000 All applicants will be contacted by November 20th about their status. Partial funding may be offered. Applications open August 10, 2026 – September 27, 2026 The STEM Opportunity Fund seeks to support organizations, schools, & districts in the Greater Bay Area K-12 education.
Funds are available in the following categories: ($25,000 max) – ie: STEAM expos, family STEAM nights, etc. ($5,000 max) – ie: transportation and admission to local experiences, etc. ($10,000 max) – ie: teacher training, maker spaces, etc. Programs & Projects Overview Applications will be reviewed and applicants will be notified by November 20, 2026. Please submit the STEM Opportunity Fund Grant Report here .

Hands-on projects included sheet mulching for water retention and weed suppression, building raised beds, propagation, transplanting and harvesting.
