Announcing the Stimulus Grants Initiative and Call for Applications - Department of Psychiatry Faculty of Medicine Department of Psychiatry Message from the Department Head Department Executive Committee Departmental Sites, Divisions & Programs Academic and Clinical Faculty Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Faculty Career Development Hub Research Teams and Partners Research Studies and Clinical Trials Stimulus Grants Initiative 2026 UBC PSYCHIATRY ANNUAL RESEARCH DAY Undergraduate Medical Education Programs Residency and Subspecialty Training in Psychiatry Research Track in the Residency Program Resident Testimonials – Research Track Fellowships and Other Postgraduate Training Continuing Professional Development Grand Rounds and CPD Events IMH Marshall Fellows Program Resources for Department Members Faculty Career Development Hub Spaces and Conference Facilities Psychiatry IT Policies and Support AI Policies, Resources and Guidance » Faculty of Medicine » Home » Announcing the Stimulus Grants Initiative and Call for Applications Announcing the Stimulus Grants Initiative and Call for Applications Dear Faculty, Trainees and Residents, I am pleased to announce that the UBC Department of Psychiatry, in partnership with the UBC Institute of Mental Health (UBC IMH) and BC Children’s Hospital, has launched the Stimulus Grants Initiative , which aims to increase research capacity and support for clinicians at any stage and for junior academics who wish to undertake: (a) Small, self-contained studies without other funding (b) Pilot studies towards the pursuit of more comprehensive initiatives and/or grant applications The Stimulus Grant Initiative comprises three streams: The Stimulus-Clinician Grant , the Stimulus-Junior Academic Grant , and the Stimulus-Child & Youth Mental Health Grant .
Applications to each stream will be assessed separately based on criteria that embrace equity, diversity and inclusion, in addition to scientific merit. The Stimulus-Child & Youth Mental Health Grant is sponsored by the BC Children’s Hospital Chair in Pediatric Mental Health, and proposed projects should focus on topics relevant for child and youth mental health.
